Terms of Service

These terms apply between BillionEdges, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates ("SahiSeal", "we") and the merchant ("you") who installs the SahiSeal app from the Shopify App Store. Installing the app means you accept them. Shopify's App Store terms and the Shopify Partner Program Agreement also apply.

1. The service

SahiSeal lets you record a dark-pattern self-audit and display the resulting self-audit certificate, publish a grievance officer and take complaints from shoppers, show country of origin and importer details, and keep a price history. Features differ by plan as described in the app and on the App Store listing.

2. What SahiSeal is not

SahiSeal records what you tell it. It does not audit, inspect or certify your store, and it is not legal advice. The self-audit certificate is a record of your own self-audit; you remain responsible for the accuracy of your answers and for your store's compliance with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 as amended, and any other law.

3. Fees

Plans are billed through Shopify's billing system in US dollars: Free, Standard at $7.99 per 30 days and Plus at $19.99 per 30 days, each paid plan after a 7-day free trial. You can cancel at any time from the app; Shopify's refund rules apply. We may change prices with 30 days' notice shown in the app.

4. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for your store, your answers in the self-audit, the grievance officer details you publish, how you handle complaints, your shoppers' data under your own privacy policy, and for using the app lawfully.

5. Availability and support

We aim for continuous availability but do not guarantee it. Support is by email at [email protected]; we reply within two business days.

6. Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, indirect loss, or any penalty or claim arising from your store's compliance. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Termination

Uninstalling the app ends these terms. We delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy. A certificate's public verification page stops working once your data is deleted. We may suspend the app for a store that breaks these terms or Shopify's terms.

8. Data processing terms

These terms form the data processing agreement between you (controller) and SahiSeal (processor) for personal data of your shoppers and staff that the app handles.

• Subject matter and purpose: operating the service described above, on your documented instructions, which are these terms and your settings in the app.
• Data: complainant name, email, phone, order reference, complaint text and a salted IP hash; grievance officer and signer details; your store's details. Data subjects: your shoppers and your staff.
• Duration: while the app is installed, plus the deletion periods in the Privacy Policy.
• Our obligations: process data only on your instructions; keep it confidential; apply the security measures described in the Privacy Policy; assist you with data-subject requests through the app and Shopify's privacy webhooks; delete data at the end of the service.
• Sub-processors: Shopify, Neon, Fly.io, Resend and Cloudflare, as listed in the Privacy Policy. We will update that list before adding a sub-processor; you may object by uninstalling.
• Breach notice: we will notify you at your store contact email without undue delay, and within 72 hours, after becoming aware of a personal data breach affecting your data.
• Transfers: data is stored in the European Union. Shopify and Cloudflare operate globally under their own transfer safeguards.

9. Changes and law

We may update these terms; material changes are shown in the app 30 days before they apply. These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and disputes go to the courts of Abu Dhabi.
