Showing the prior price for the last 30 days
Rule 4(13) · in force 1 January 2027
Under Rule 4(13) of the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) (Amendment) Rules, 2026 (G.S.R. 789(E), notified 9 September 2026, in force 1 January 2027), when a store shows a price reduction, it shows the lowest price of the 30 days before the reduction next to the current price.
Why history matters
The lowest price can only be shown correctly if the store has a record of every price for the previous 30 days. A store that starts recording on the day of a sale cannot show it.
What SahiSeal does today
- SahiSeal records the price and compare-at price of every product variant from the day it is installed, and again each time a price changes.
- The storefront label that displays the 30-day lowest price ships in a later version of SahiSeal. It will only show a value when the full 30 days of history exist, and never estimates from shorter history.
